In 2013, the inaugural year of The Great Auckland Bed Race, Grant Raynor was a running member of the BNI Metro Team who won first prize (and 4 out of 7 prizes).
In 2014, Grant's team of runners came third despite a lightning pace, but won the most honourable prize for the most funds raised, $20,000, for BNI Metro's nominated charity, Hospice. Our theme was Dr Suess - Thing 1 and Thing 2.
In a few days time, on Sunday 22nd March 2015, the Ascension RCA Group sponsored BNI Metro Team will race once again regain their title and to raise money for South Auckland (Totara) Hospice. The team has put in weeks of training on the course, and is backed by the Flagship BNI Chapter of NZ, BNI Metro.
The Great Auckland Bed Race theme this year is Heroes & Villains. We're chosen the All Blacks as our heroes and will be running in AB (all black).
